BUFFALO TRACE DISTILLERY EARNS MORE ACCOLADES

Franklin County, KY—World renowned whiskey writer, Jim Murray, has released his picks for the world’s best whiskeys. Sazerac Rye 18 year-old was named the 2010 World Whiskey of the Year as well as Rye Whiskey of the Year. Also recognized was George T. Stagg, which took home the honor of Bourbon of the Year.
Sazerac Rye received a composite score of 97.5, only the second time this high score has been awarded. These honors along with others will be published in Jim Murray’s 2010 Whiskey Bible.
“It is a true honor to have our products singled out by Jim,” said Harlen Wheatley, master distiller. “He truly understands what makes a fine whiskey. Having earned his recognition speaks volumes on what we are doing here at Buffalo Trace.”
Jim Murray has been a full-time whiskey writer since 1992 and is one of the most recognizable names in the industry. He is a three-time winner of the coveted Glenfiddich award and travels all over the world in search of the best whiskeys.
